This is the official draft pick tracker, which must be checked and updated by one of the GM's involved in a trade BEFORE the trade is approved. Trades will not be approved until this board is updated.

I'd like to know, for the second year in a row, if we're not doing the Elite 8 on Yahoo - why the hell is the Elite 8 decided already? Why isn't it at the very end of the year? Commish JV - how did you come up with this date for it to be the deciding factor? With 10, 9, 8, 7 and 6th place teams so close, why end it?
I will admit I am only asking this at the moment as I'm not involved (literally the same thing happened last year) but am now tied for 8th. I was in 6th maybe a week or two ago. Doesn't make sense to end let the Elite 8 finish at the end of the season if we can not do the Yahoo Elite 8 tourney. The point was to keep guys involved until the end isn't it? You've given me no reason to care by ending it with a few weeks to go.

I don't know who has or hasn't signed up, but I think if we determine the teams in the lottery today it shouldn't include any teams that didn't take 3 minutes to join the elite 8 yahoo group in the fall.

I just had a look, the only team of the top 8 who entered the lottery at the time JV posted and has not signed up for the Yahoo league is Calgary.

It was decided in theory we would have three weeks worth of playoffs, so that we would have that date as a cut off (just right after the Trade Deadline).
* I will make a change that this "elite 8" for the 2014-15 season be the end of the regular season, at that point the top 8 teams will be put in a random order for the 4th round entry pick that is awarded to the champion. I agree that this may get some gm's to get lining up there roster to see if they can get that 4th round entry.

I am sorry that this doesn't look like it will actually happening this season, I will take 50% of the blame as I travel on a 2way street meaning yes you the owners and gm's that didnt take 30seconds to sign up will take the reminder. Yes as Commish I should've just finalize the Elite 8 League and be done with those that didnt enter, I didnt do that so 100% of that will go in my cup.

I will try again in the 2015-16 season to get the Elite 8 in and finalize by NLT then Nov. The whole idea is to keep playing as we have found out if your not in top 3(maybe 4) your not getting the DeBrusk Cup.

Let's make it a little bit fun and instead of just a random draw of 8 teams, each week a coin toss is held in bracket form to see who moves on to the championship for the sweet, sweet 4th round pick.
1 vs 8
2 vs 7
Etc.

Or even more fun, at the start of each "playoff week" each team submits 1F 1D and 1G and we add up head to head stats at the end of the week to move on.
