Recap on another Dany of a deal from the Wings and Avs ...
The Avs get Scottie Hartnell a tough player on the ice (see Hartnell down t-shirts). The cap relief is a nice touch but swat is getting a player that is avg .62 PPG ..Thats hitting the 50 pt mark and makes him a Top 6 Fwd, add in the HITS (oops thats not a stat)..the Pims are a bit lower but still should average out to 60. Plus he adds more grit on the second PP unit. ...he has the long term contract with a cap hit of 4.750....after looking at those numbers one could suggest that Hartnell would be damn close to being a Top 4.....DET should get a lottery pick (1st CHI) this season and should nab a blue-chipper that will help in a supported role the first few seasons then take off. Rack also gets big body Nick Bjugstad (if memory serves me Nick has been trade before) Look for this blue-chipper of a prospect to increase his pt totals next season and could line up as 2A/ 2B Centermen or a good Top 9 moving forward to what some believe Top 6, so avg point total in the 50 range and contributing else where like say in shots.
WINNER : tough one as I feel Nick will be the type of player Hartnell is "in stats only" but at this time having a player that can be a 50/50 (pts/pims) you got to go with that ...rack knows all to well with these types of players as he seems to have a handful (to bad no hits) but i may come back to this trade in the fall if Rack and Co can do wonders with that 1st rounder that should end up in the top 5
