One wonders if Cam and Co. even went to work over the past few days....
Canucks get a great blue-chipper I feel in Josh Morissey he's a least 2-3yrs away but looks to be a solid off-dmen. Maybe a No.2-3, but should fill in the top 4 nicely. Chris Tanev is a worker and should help the Nucks the reminder of the season as a 3rd pairing on the back end. Leafs get at times flashy Franson who projects as a good N4D. But the check is this Franson's contract is up at the reminder of the season and should be inline for a raise in the 4-5 range, is he worth it? Thats not the real question as the cap goes up so do the salaries and Cody is inline for a pay day.
WINNER: Canucks, yah going to take some for this...But feel Josh is close to that Blue-Chip Prospect Status...Hes quick, mobile and can move the puck up quickly also seems to find the net..Which is a talent these days as you have everyone and there aunt blocking shots. Does he become a No.2 ? hmmm thats hard to say as No.2 dmen are the boys that put up 40pts/10goals/ and add another stat/cat in PIMs, +/- or PPP. Franson isn't a bad player playing on the leafs yes he's going to pile 40pts (hmm yah No.2 as per my stat line) but its a contract year and i think he's more of a 30pt guy No.3-4 type dmen going to get paid as no.2 ..seen ? seen
