The Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks have come to an agreement on a deal which will see 9 players being moved after lengthy back and forth meetings.
To the Edmonton Oilers: C/RW Johan Franzen (.942), RW Joffrey Lupul (2.312), D Rob Blake (5) and G Steve Mason (.821) = $9.075
To the Chicago Blackhawks: C/LW Patrick O'Sullivan (2.925), RW David Moss (.550), LW Milan Lucic (.618), D Alexander Edler (.550) and G Marc-Andre Fleury (5) = $9.643
RW Eric Fehr (2-way, .735) will be sent to Blackhawks farm to make room for new additions.
D Filip Kuba (2-way, 3) is off the IR and joining the Edmonton Oilers' squad to fill the void.
Total cap hits: Edmonton Oilers - $54.363 Chicago Blackhawks - $56.515 (melcher, correct me if I am wrong, but I think that's right...using the number virgs has in your salary cap thread)

Blackhawksare getting one of the best young power forwards in the game who will be great in this fantasy league for many years and ranks in the top 25 for left wingers. They are also getting a great D-Men in Edler and O'Sullivan will keep on scoring. David Moss will this team chip in the pts and is perfect in a 3rd line role. The big question mark is the goalie they acquire Marc Andre Fleury making 5 million this season and the next few. Hawks must be hoping he gets back the form he had in 06-07 season when he won 40 games. Overall the hawks get a B+
The Edmonton Oilers again show what a true fantasy gm is all about by allowing all players on his roster up for trade talk to very least. He shows that to win and to stay in the top tier you have move top end prospects to get the player or players you need to win. Mason by far is the best player coming over from the hawks, he could win the calder and if the jackets make the playoffs should have a vote or two for MVP. Last point on Steve Mason is that he is making under 1 million for the next few seasons. Rob Blake is having a great season and will help in the Power Play Points. Franzen and Lupul will also help for the rest of the season by putting up more points and adding a few pts in the PPP Category. Overall Oilers B+
We will have to look at this trade in a year or two, but man its to close for me to say who's a winner both teams got what they need in terms of pts in the categories
