Ok, so with Tuesday's announcement looming I thought I'd take a shot at this. Gotta love a sweet Friday night predicting a hockey team. Middle age is here.... haha.
Anyways, thought I'd get a little creative and go off the board here and there. Went off the board with Harding, but man, if Lou and Price play poorly, is there another Canadian goalie out there that you'd rather have in the net right now? Dude has earned that spot in my opinion. On D, I left off a few big names (Boyle in particular) and see PK as a wild card. I'd start him with big minutes to get the offense going and get confidence up, but could also see him as an 8th guy if he has lapses. On forward, biggest name I left off was Nash... I think he's over rated. And he can't spell consistency. My poor opinion though. I like having St. Louis there, especially if Stammer goes. If offense goes stale, you put a line together with proven chemistry. L1, is pure speed and offense. L2 plays against the best line on the other team, and kills penalties. Just like the looks of L3. Sharpie looks killer on the ice these days. L4 is fairly obvious. Be interesting to see who plays on the left there. I like Benn over guys like Marleau, Lucic, Neal and Kunitz. I think M. Richards could play there too. Richards is a big game guy who can play a great bottom 6 role... thus his inclusion. Picked Bergeron too for versatility... maybe he still has some chemistry with Sid. Wish I could see a spot for T. Hall. He'd look great on this team.
Well here it is. A great waste of time. Feel free to call me out, and predict as well.
Goalies:
R. Luongo
C. Price
J. Harding
Defense:
P1: D. Keith, PK Subban
P2: J. Boumeester, A. Peitrangelo
P3: MA. Vlasic, S. Weber
P4: D. Doughty, B. Seabrook
Forwards: (LW,C, RW)
L1: Duchene, Crosby, Stamkos
L2: E. Staal, Toews, Giroux
L3: Sharp, Tavares, St. Louis
L4: Benn, Getzlaf, Perry
extras: Bergeron, M. Richards
Captain - Crosby
Rotating A's - Weber, Keith, Toews, Staal
