Greetings GMs, Ownership and the Board of Governors. I would first like to thank Mr.Coach Roach SFHL Special Events Co-ordinator & SFHL Ombudsmen for his work on this project. My office rcvd all the voting results and SFHL Front Office is also aware of the final vote results. As well thanks to all 16 franchises that took the time to fill out the ballot. My Office wasn't so keen on giving the board of governors this much power in terms of voting in new rules mainly stats/cats into are league. As has been the case for past years it mainly came down to myself THE COMMISH and sometimes some direction from SFHL Front Office. But times are changing and the thought was that it should be a collected group of 16 to vote in and or out new additions to are fine league. I do understand that sometimes there's "to much admin work" for making roster moves, etc...some rules/restrictions in the past have made the rule book because of "loop holes" as in GM's weren't "breaking the rules" so thats why at times it feels like we are sometimes doing more rules then just having some fun. As Commish I hope that we now have the rules and regs inplace and most teams are aware of them and as such its just like tying ones shoes.....
At the end of the day I was somewhat disappointed that some new fantasy stats didn't get put in and that there were some close votes that for the most part shouldn't of happen. But at the end of the day I am okay with whats being introduce into the 2014-15 Season. As the Commish my views are always for the league and whats best for all teams and gms, not one but all teams. I hope everyone is still enjoying the league and having fun as this was the main goal when I sat down in the summer of 2007. Okay so I was 50/50 on the Shutouts being kept in are league, as its such a dominate stat, but with 1/1 goalie system it may work. My office didn't want to see either GWG or SOG added or kept in this league, we felt the GWG was no longer a true Game Winning Goal stat and feel SOG is not the fantasy stat we wanted added. As noted we wanted to see either Hits or Blocked shots added to are fine league as this we felt was a "true fantasy stat" would make drafting, scouting funnier as to oppose seeing you shoots the puck the most..Hint 90% is the guys that are already are leading there teams in PTS/Goals......We felt that one of the two would add a new element to are league and to some players value. Yes as sitting on the fence watching both sides you can see that one teams didn't want Hits cause that would give Dustin Browns more value and others wanted Block Shots to add some players that aren't always found in are league. I was sad and felt the ball was dropped that we couldn't add one of these and take away SOG/GWG....Happy as a Mike Roach eating a hotdog being a backup or happy as a Michael Roach Wiarton Wolves Goalie drunk and being drunk as a backup called in to play. With in terms of the Goalie System as this has been on are docket for the better part of 3yrs..We could all agree that we needed to do something with the goalie overall value (2vs20)...I feel this is a good move and it will be interesting to see the least what type of systems gms will employ next season?? Waivers good to see the old system back as the new system gave GMS carte a blache on signing or protecting big name name players and $$$ and waiving them at full price and getting that cap room back and 98% cleared and are now in the minors....As teams can hide these players for next season as the cap is going up and will have the room...I am glad this was changed as if not I was going to come down very hard on 1 way waivers...and love how we are mirror image of the NHL on removing re-entry waivers...lastly pros and cons for raising the 2way contract yes salary cap is going up yes salaries are going way up which is reasons enough as well makes the UFA draft somewhat still important and the cons some players that wouldn't be 1way/waiver players but at the end of the day i think you the board did a good job.

Change to the old waiver system & remove re-entry waivers

Increase 2way Salaries to 4M from the original 3M bar.
* At this time we aren't looking for Expansion, but with some new rules/stats/cats this league could and can support up to 18 teams.
