With only 4 days left until the Midnight Trade Deadline, The Colorado Avalanche are still making deals to try and secure 1st place for two years in a row. The Kings again take on a nuts load of cap. The rumours around the league were that Hockey operations department were taking a look at what the kings cap was before the this trade to see if they violated league policy with regards to the salary cap floor which is at 40.7M.
Trade Breakdown:
AVS
Joe Thornton @ .200k - C - avs trade big time star Iginla worth about the same next season for thornton. But did get big joe at 200k it will interesting who the avs keep next season.
Mike Cammalleri @ 3.350M - LW - nice trade cam is having a great season going into ufa at season's end. This helps fill the void of Iginla (RW) by putting Shane Doan on the right side
1st/7th UFA - This could be big considering that the ufa draft is a lottery.
3rd Entry- maybe 34th overall Keep shakin my head avs deal so much to ge to the top but still get a entry pick back(well played swat)

Jarome Iginla 7M - RW- I guess the kings thought they were week on the wing vs up the middle. what can yah say its freakin Jarome Iginla.
Bobby Ryan .821 - RW- great pickup another right winger kings are looking better for the right side next season. Could be rookie of the year and still will be a prospect in this league.
Ty Conklin .750K - G- swat unload ty to grab Vokoun, tiff thought he would actually want 2 goalies playing since the past 2 months he had 2 out 3 goalies listed on the IR.
Entry Pick Rd 1 WPG: looks to be in around 12th overall. Maybe kings can package some picks for 1st overall...wait and see
UFA Rd 2 (edm) (avs) losing the 1st ufa hurts but with good drafting and the lottery this could turn out to be a good move for the rebuilding kings
UFA Rd 6 (avs) could of been the price to eat 7mill of joeys salary, wonder how much more kings can eat in terms of salary, late pick but could build depth or grab a sleeper

I had two 2nd ROUND FA Picks - 1 from Oilers and 1 AVS
Blackhawks took my 2nd ENTRY PICK in the Pominville deal not my FA
And the 6th FA pick is from MTL - Lombardi deal
