The Edmonton Oilers have traded Thomas Vanek (7.143) and Mikael Samuelsson (1.2, 2-way) to the Minnesota North Stars for LW Scott Hartnell (4.2) and Teddy Purcell (.800, 2-way).
Hartnell will be added to Edmonton Oilers roster while Purcell is sent to the Edmonton Oil Kings.
Edmonton Oilers new cap hit $50.284
North Stars cap hit will be added later today after roster is worked out.

and if not what is the best way for other gms to contact him (email)

yes... email is the best way to reach pat
he's been getting back to those who ask him about players but the league board is not his forte as of yet...
patrickbales@gmail.com i believe is what it is..it's in virgs league emails he sends out...

okay, here's the deal to finalize our deal
Pat put three on the IR yesterday (Brad Richards 7.8, one-way, John Micheal Liles 4.2, one-way, Mark Giordano .892, two-way). With our trade, Vanek (7.143, one-way) joins North Stars and goes to IR and John Michael Liles (4.2) coming off IR to fill void. Schneider signed from FA to fill hole of Giordano and Mikael Samuelsson (1.2, 2-way) goes to North Stars farm.
Cap hit is $47.948.
So, without numbers, here's the deal
Vanek to Stars, to the IR. Liles off IR. Schneider signed to make 6 D. Samuelsson to farm. That puts Stars at 22 on active roster.
Hartnell to Edmonton Oilers. Purcell to Edmonton Oil Kings.
deal finalized if commish agrees

The North Stars, the league welcomes you. All kidding a side the Stars pulled of there first trade of the season with just 2 wks before the SFHL Deadline. One can tell the Stars needed some superstar power for next season if they want to make any kind of run. In that star is Vanek @ 7.143, he is having a great season before going onto the IR (said Cherry shouldn't had him on the PPP when you were up by 4 goals with little time to go Lindy, The Hockey Gods have spoken). Samuelsson is having a great season on the right side being rank 18 overall in that position. But is a UFA at season's end one would have to guess if his stats goes down like many on the wings that leave for a higher pay check. One would think the stars are opening for business
Jes Grass of the Oilers gets a tough fantasy point producer in Scott Hartnell rated 10th in LW but 32nd overall is mighty good for both Scottie and Oilers. Once again the Oilers improve there Prospect out come with Ted Purcell whom will be in the NHL for good next season. The Edmonton Oilers are still pulling the string in hoping they can check 2nd place, with Marty posting a shutout last night one can see them getting there very soon.
