im sorry... i bite my tongue on the Nabokov trade earlier this season.. but this trade is horse shit.... I dont care what both parties in the trade think.. its not fair... and Swat is getting more in this deal... I know we brought up before about looking at trades for maybe next year but I just hope those in charge of this pool take a seriously look at this trade and consider vetoing it... its horseshit.. plain and simple.... you can say what you want abouy Price.. but he isnt starting right now.. and COnlkin is the better tender to date... Avs are getting the better forward, D-man, goalie and 1st and 3rd entry???... come on.. horseshit...

hahahahah give me a break dude! Both teams got what they wanted .... are u upset that I am actually looking at what stats i need to catch you and making deals ... Isn't that what a GM does? trys to improve his team ..... Roach wanted Price for the future and now he has him .... suck it up!

so roach gives up alot for a goaltender who has sucked for most of the season...... you can tell me to suck it up... but if you were in my position.. you'd feel the same way... but if the league doesnt want to do anything thats fine....
good luck the rest of the way!

First off, the league has been in discussions about this trade from the get go.
Second, as my personal opinion, in a league where 40% of the stats are goalies, and I have first hand knowledge of what s hitty goaltending will do for a team, I don't think it's outrageous to overpay for a goalie. Many people smarter than me expect Price to be one of the best goalies in the league for many many years to come. If I could have gotten him for less than what Roach gave, I would have jumped at it.

how can the league do anything? Both teams agreed to the trade .... If roach thought he was getting ripped off he would have never made the trade ... so he's having a bad year, whats your point? look at marleau.....he had an awful year last year and now look at him .... Price is Montreals future ..... And Conklin is not even an everyday starter ... just relax man ... you still have a pretty big lead on me ...

the part that is i found to be sketchy is coach eating 6 mill of lidstrom and having to give up two entry picks. if a GM eats that much, he should be gaining in the pick department, not losing out on them. in a time when the aves were desperate and price wasnt hot, the jets gave up too much, but as rack said you have to overpay to get #1 goalies in this league...and he did.

I will share with everyone the message I just sent to the rest of the league office:
Boys, The reason we have given ourselves the power to veto a trade is only to prevent 2 guys from 'teaming up' so to speak... where something is obviously in the works that is so one sided that it is obvious to all. This is not the case in the Avs / Jets trade. Case closed.

Relax, I realize I paid a pirce for Price, he is slumping a bit this year but the guy will be a top 5 tender in the NHL in the next couple years. Conklin is a career back-up I had in the minors, couldn't re-call without losing him. Lidstrom is too expensive for me to keep when I have numerous players getting big raises next year. I had to eat some salary for the deal to be done. Hudler is a UFA who the Wings can't afford and will not re-sign in Detroit. I really don't think he will put up numbers without the Wings top ranked PP. Swats giving up a franchise goalie for a shot at winning this year, whats wrong with that. The picks were a little much, but my 1st rounder to the flames 2nd is 6 spots as the standings are now, but that was the price. A very similar trade was offered to a few other teams in this league and turned down, so I don't think its too "unfair". I fits my needs moving some spare parts I wasn't going to keep, for a franchise goalie, and Swat gets some help for his end off year push. Relax

OKAY EVERYONE................................... DAMAGE CONTROL FROM HEAD OFFICE OF THE COMMISH Here is my analyses for allowing this trade BREAKDOWN ON PLAYERSAVSCONKLIN: rank 6th -Playing on the Wings will help you in Wins Cat this season, he's not even under contract for next season LIDSTROM rank 4th D-great player all around (NORRIS)1.450 cap hit pretty nice , lids is making 7.450 (rental player) high salary might not be back HUDLER rank 16th RW- yes is having a great season, low salary BUT becomes RFA at season end,(OFFER SHEET) if wings cannot sign him Higher salary and less production ENTRY PICKS RD 1 (12th) & RD 3 1st round and second rounder cancel each other out...swat got a nice pick in the 3rd round to find a young replacement in goal thats were roach had to give up some, but hey to get a number #1 in are league is hard and will if teams can have 3 goalies on there teams JetsPRICEb] rank 30th- Young/Cheap/ Star Potential goalie of the future (#3 on Team Canada?)PRICE & BACKSTROM 09-10 VERY NICE- since as rack pointed out 40% goalie cats, and with teams able to dress 3 goalies this could be huge
BERGERON rank 55- needs to fill a roster spot this season has 14PPP, Lidstrom 6M -this hurts but swat is right up at the cap trade wouldn't happen big peice to get Price, Roach clears 7.450 for next season. Bergeron is UFA
POMINVILLE rank 26 RW- player for player is pretty even pominville - hulder, low salary this season. jumps up to 5M but is going to play on top line should = good production
ENTRY PICK RD 2 CGY overall 18th, he gave up a 1st rounder (overall 12th) and 3rd rounder could be for swat to find a goalie of the future
FINAL ANAL YST The Jets had lidstrom on & off the block the past couple months and saw opprunty to grab a young/cheap goalie in Price (when he was listed on the block). So seeing these players in this trade shouldnt be to alarming. Roach had to overpaid(draft pick & hudler) but feels with Price & Backstrom next season could help him. hell might even help this season. But as I have stated above beside each players name, is what I feel, and have been told what the gm's were thinking.
SIDE NOTE: THIS trade may rub guys in the wrong place. Swat making good deals getting Havlat & Lidstrom for 1.5M is good and still getting picks in return for teams to eat salary.BUT there has been some lopsided trades this season and in the past. As rack has noted (league office can only veto a trade if there is back door action going on)something Tiffy monster enjoys (RUMOUR MILL SOURCE)................I think it comes down to this, AVS getting Nabokov earlier in the season from Jase, and no one has really heard from jase since (trade proposal) which limits teams movements on players (teams were not happy that they didnt get chance to make that deal and or there gm's that some guys can never trade with since they dont read there pm or email so thats were the frusartion comes into play.....................it really comes down to that "EVERYONE" has a chance to make trades "WITH" every GM in this LEAGUE not the few select............... Maybe when trades are made the teams invloved could put a quick line down on there trade analyst of the trade and reasons..its good to see guys talk about this and show emotion.........I hope this helps out a bit and settles some of the termoil...it's been a long day (and I have missed watching like 2hours of heroe's lucky you f**k*rs I dont have a life outside of the SFHL................Hooo rahhhh
