I had sent this to the rest of the fat cats... I'm posting it here to see if anyone else agrees with me... If not, I'll just vote and hope for the best. Here goes:
The one thought I have, which may be more of a pain and maybe no one else cares, but it's with the two goalie votes - SO and 1 and 1 or 2 starters. Personally I'd want to know if we were going to one starter and one bench or keeping 2 before I voted on getting rid of shut-outs. If we went to 1 and 1, I could see why we'd get rid of it and just let the best tandem run with it. If we keep 2 starters, then I'd want to keep the SO as you're collecting that stat no matter what, not just getting lucky with the goalie you choose on each night. It's not something you can research - minus maybe the best team in the league playing a dreadful offence... you may have a step up on the rest that night - but in general you can't research shut-outs. Make sense?
Anyone else agree?

I think you countered your own argument there by giving an example of how you can actually GM for shutouts. There are a lot more stats that are a lot more uncertain/lucky than Shutouts, which are very much an individual performance stat. GWG are random, all you can do is own players who score lots of goals on winning teams. +/- is greatly influenced by team performance. SHP, especialy for D-men, is an inflated stat at times. Wins are a team stat too. I'd say shutouts are more earned by the player than any of those stats.

Yes, maybe. But even the worst team in the league can still pot a single goal on the night on the PP which kills any research. I also just think going to 3 goalie stats and 7/8 player stats is stupid. But I've always been a goalie advocate so it's my job to bring it up haha

I think most pools work best at an 8:4 or 7:3 ratio. Hopefully we'll end up with one of those.
