Hey guys,
With my abundance of free time lately, and finding out NHL 13 is only $20 at Futureshop (till Jan 5). I am going to create everyones team and simulate a season. Then will post results...I have no idea how long this will take, but I have time...why search for a job when this needs to be done!

picking teams takes a long f**k**g time. Going on 6 hours, Jackie is now selecting the players. She's taken selecting the other 16 teams as 'her' teams, and actually balancing them...works for me. 22/32 rounds complete
I would say Cam has the team to beat

Hahaha... Loving this idea Melch!!! I like my solid 4 lines... But I don't think I have the D to contain the likes of the Sedins paired with a Tavares. Good luck to all!

Those twins are no longer being paired with JT, so you may have a shot at it! They were moved to Philly in the off-season!

Teams are organized and lines set. I personally adjusted a couple lines, to make the chemistry better. you're welcome
i'm going to try a team-by-team breakdown, of our teams...and do a standings rank
St. Louis Could use their offensive prowler owner on the team. No high end talent, but lots of mid-80 skill for depth. The defense is looking to hit you with Phaneuf-Orpik-Hainsey-Brewer, should add some offense as well. Neuvirth and Reimer in net...can someone trade Mitch a goalie? 16/16
Phoenix Much like Landeskog, The Nuge is underrated with 80, but should produce on the 2nd line behind Joey T. This team might win the league...in Europe. Or can an entire offense win the Lady Byng? Loads of skill, but might get scared by a team that can hit. Great mix of talent on the back end, having Chara should help the offense do their job. Nabokov and Lindback is dicey in net. 15/16
Anaheim Dangerous top line of Landeskog-Crosby-Heatley, although Landy is underrated at 82. Pretty good depth, but not much toughness. Defense should fair alright. Inexperience in goaltending could be downfall, Rask and "your're off the case BOBROVSKY! 14/16
Philadelphia Really scarey top line of Sedin-Sedin-LE FRENCH PHEMON!. Next 2 lines have skill but little toughness, all the toughness is saved for the 4th line with 3 grinders. Unlike other teams, this defenseman corp won't put up many points, but will be productive in the other aspects of the position. Backstrom and Smith should be pretty good in net. 13/16
Toronto Needs more talented players, besides the top line of R.Bourque-Roy-Kessel. There is a good balance between skill and toughness, so chemistry could be the spark. The defense is fast, and should help the offense quite a bit. However, Vokoun and Varlamov will have a tough time. 12/16
Colorado Much like Calgary, Colorado's leader is Rick Nash on offense. With the rest of the offense with same skill levels, could use more toughness. Great top D-line of Duncan Keith and Nik Kronwall. Goaltending will be the issue with the Anti Niemi and Braden Holtby. 11/16
Calgary Eric Staal is by far the Captain of this team. Behind him is a team full of 'character' players. With lots of players near the same skill level, chemistry could be the main factor in Flames success. Defense should produce points, but they need to provide defense for Bryzgalov (here's hoping he fairs better in game, then real life) or Craig Anderson. 10/16
Chicago While not a flashy team and lacking elite talent now, Chicago should be balanced. Mainstays Ott and Neil provide enough toughness to scare anyone. Newcomer Craig Smith could take this team to the top! Top 4 defensemen are talented, but drops off after that with Dougie Hamilton and Jared Spurgeon. Kari Lehtonen needs another solid and healthy year for Chicago to do well. 9/16
Pittsburgh Offense is nice and balanced, could use a bit more toughness. My concern is team speed, other than that Pittsburgh should be fine. Defense is built on offense, Robby Luo or Cory Schneider will be busy in net 8/16
Montreal The surprise team from last season, is looking to make an even bigger push this year...buuuutttt I don't think they will. Scarey top line of Marleau-Toews-Sharp, and good balance behind them. Could use a touch more toughness. Defense might be the best, as all 6 are two-way-defefenseman. Halak and Pavelec need to be solid in net. For this team to have success, they need secondary scoring. 7/16
Los Angeles Nice up the middle with Kopitar, Richards, Couture and Eller. Kovalchuk provides the elite talent, Chris Stewart and Kassian should provide toughness. The defensemen might as well be forwards. Quick needs to have a repeat of last season. 6/16
Edmonton Parise, Malkin, Hossa, Tavares, Seguin, Bergeron, Selanne, Sutter, Edler, Kiprusoff, Howard...this team will produce points, and should do well at stopping the puck. However, the defense needs to stop shots from getting on net, not sure if this group can do that. 5/16
Winnipeg Excellent depth down the middle with Giroux, Getzlaf, Cammalleri and Marchand. Nice blend of skill and toughness all around. Defense is young (weak), but full of potential with Nick Leddy and Brendan Smith. Best goaltending in the SFHL, Lundqvist and Price. 4/16
Carolina (Hartford) HELLO SKILL! Top 6 of Ovechkin-Stamkos-Gaborik-Zetterberg-Backstrom-Burrows will be tough to stop. With lack of keepers, the depth drops at 4th line, relying on the youth to step up. Defense is a good mix, but could use an offensive D-man...maybe a trade with Calgary in the future?! Second best goaltending duo in the SFHL with Ryan Miller and Cam Ward 3/16
Detroit A well-balanced team with high end skill (Pavel Datsyuk), and toughness (Hartnell/Clutterbuck)...possibly the most evenly balanced team in the SFHL. It's the same on defense people. Letang provides the skill, while Theo Peckham punches you in the throat. To boot Picky Rinne is in net. The balance on this team has given me an erection. 2/16
Vancouver No idea how GM Cam acquired this much talent P.Kane-B.Ryan-Lucic-Duchene-J.Carter-Callahan-O'Reilly on offense, with good balance of Perron-N.Foligno-Prust-Dubinsky-S.Downie...damn. Not the most explosive defense, but they don't need to be. Fleury just needs to play safe in net for Vancouver to win. 1/16
well that's it, time to watch football. Season may start tomorrow. Bye

Wow! Great read. Not sure I want this much attention on my boys going into the tourney. We pride ourselves on being the underdog. A lot of tightly matched teams here... I see a lot of 7 game series.

Who's the third on the 'American Idiots' line? Its only a matter of time before Kane goes down with Cirrhosis, and Ryan pisses off Coach Quinn.

Stampy is close. Apparently he has turned into an apples guy. Need a playmaker to pass him the puck. See what i can.
Where should Zetterberg be?
I'm almost 100% recovered from New Years. Should continue today.
