Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avs make first deal

The Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche have come to an agreement for the first time in league history.

The Oilers have sent LW Brenden Morrow ($4.1, one-way), RW PA Parenteau ($1.2, 1-way), RW Nino Niederreiter ($.900, 2-way), Evgeni Nabokov ($.570, 2-way), Winnipeg's 1st entry in 2012 and Edmonton's 2nd entry in 2013 to Colorado in exchange for RW Marian Hossa ($5.233, 1-way) and RW Teemu Selanne with $3.5 mill in relief ($.5, 1-way).

To make the deal work, the Oilers moves are as follows:

Morrow off the Yahoo! IR and C Brian Boyle ($1.7, 2-way) is sent to the Edmonton Oil Kings for a quick conditioning stint.
Morrow, Parenteau and Niederreiter sent to Colorado, while Hossa and Selanne join the Oilers. Boyle is re-called for his first call-up of the season.
New cap hit is $68.775
$14 mill relief for Edmonton - ugh.

The Avalanche will post its moves asap on Tuesday.
