Swirling rumours have the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings being linked to a possible deal. While the essentials are in place for a deal to be processed, additional pieces may be added before the trade is confirmed. Only one name has been leaked so far, that of the Oilers young gunner Sam Gagner.

Additional pieces fell through due to possible deals with other GMs, and the finalized deal is as follows:
To Edmonton Oilers:
Hartford's 3rd Rd. UFA (#39 overall) through the Kings, and the Kings' 4th Rd. UFA (#47 overall)
To Los Angeles Kings:
Sam Gagner (.875)
