The Edmonton Oilers have traded LW Milan Lucic to the Minnesota North Stars for D Jeff Schultz and the Oilers conditional pick which was previous sent to Minnesota in the Pronger-Wolski deal.
Schultz ($0.715, 2-way) will be put right onto the Oilers roster. Lucic (.618, 1-way) will be put onto the North Stars roster.
The Oilers new cap will be $59.458. The North Stars cap is TBA, as D Carlo Colaiacovo needs to be brought off the IR for the deal to legally occur.
Once GM Dwayne Kessel gets the paper work done to get Colaiacovo back and his cap hit with Colaiacovo and Lucic, minus Schultzy, he will post it up for approval.

As told to Jesse, posted as soon as I got into the office and opened up the fantasy hockey folder.
New cap hit for Stars is $59,924,000. Lucic enters the club right away and Moteau (.776 2-way) finally exits the roster after hiding in the luggage compartment while Colaiacovo (1.283, 1-way) was taking all his band aids off.

This is fine this season (since there is nothing in the rule book) but Iam going to impose a rule that teams cannot re-trade CONDITIONAL PICKS . My reasoning for this is when dealing with this sort of thing there are always conditionals the two teams agree upon, there shouldn't be a third party part of this. Yes I know the two teams dealing with this are the two teams that started with this but what happens if the (third party) comes into the picture there are two many things that are attach too "Conditional Picks". Also that pick isn't the property of the receiving team until the end of the season, so this does put things in more legal imbo...I hope you guys understand what I am trying to explain in writing. But come 2010-2011 season Teams will not be allowed to Re-Trade Conditional Picks that they have acquire.

To Edmonton: Wojtek Wolski ($2.8 million) To Minni: Chris Pronger ($6.25 million), conditional entry pick. New Stars cap hit: $59,938,000. The conditional pick is based on the Oilers' success. If they finish Top 3, the 2010 4th round entry pick comes to the North Stars. If the Oilers finish 4th or lower, the 2010 3rd round entry pick comes to the North Stars

Thanks for the head's up Virgo. One of those housekeeping loop holes to tie up in the summer. Didn't even consider it being an issue, but I fully see where you're coming from.

Agreed. I was thinking about that after talking with Pat to be honest. Good thing to fix for the future.
