3)Brian Burke Salary Rule, requiring when deadling salaries teams must have a minimim of 500k of that players salary. The 500K increments should apply to the team TRADING the player, with the team AQUIRING the player picking up the remainder of the salary.
The Avs must pay Selanne at least 500k. Based on the official rule, the closest way to make this trade legal is for the Hawks to pay $2,000,000 and for the Avs to cover the remaining $625,000.
