Sept 17 or 24 makes the most sense. Not too early, not too late. Oct 1 is too tight to the start of the season to get rosters in + post-draft trade window.

Also can we determine next year's keeper list setup before this year's off-season (soon)? If we can only keep 1G next year or if we go back to 15 keepers etc etc all could affect how teams approach this year.

Finally, I feel the keeper list requirements need to be set in stone for good, and need to be voted on by everyone. Can't keep jumping around from 15 keepers to 12 keepers to 1G + whatever skaters etc. Whatever it is we do we need to decide as a league and stick to it for the foreseeable future.

It was agreed upon to go down to 12 last yr ...and grass had suggested that we could look at the possibility to have GM's use a format of 11 skaters + 1 goalie or option two was to protect 8 skaters + 2 goalies.
Agree Rack that we should fig this out in the next week or so. It will either be in my eyes and this will be set for the 2018-19 season and going forward for the next 3 seasons. 1. 12 players Or 2. VP Grass recommendation A) 12 (1 goaltender and 11 skaters) or B) 10 (2 goaltenders and 8 skaters)

I like option 2.

Option 1 for me.
#2 is a solid idea but I think that's too big of a penalty for keeping 2 goalies. Also don't like the change in trade/draft value that creates for goalies.

Well, you need a big enough "penalty" to make guys actually think about not keeping two goalies. There needs to be value in letting a goalie go - hence 2 players. Also, don't see the change you're talking about. Maybe at the draft, as there's a chance for more goalies to be available and potentially help those stuck in the middle always because of only one goalie, but that's about it. Only made the suggestion as guys keep saying they want more parity in the league and the UFA to mean more etc. I'm fine with whatever way it is voted - just don't see the change you are thinking. Or don't see it as a bad thing maybe? I don't know haha. I'm the end it was just something different which would open more goalies or more keeper players to the UFA draft to make it mean more.

I see what you're saying. I'm speaking from my own personal situation. Case study on value.. I have Saros. should lose P status at year end. Has big potential but behind Holtby on my team so I'd have to trade him or keep 8 skaters, which I really don't want to do. So I think Saros' value drops on the trade market because everyone will have a true #1, and will be reluctant to go the 8-2 route. I'll also be reluctant to draft a goalie because of that situation, and will always just go The UFA route for my #2. Just my thinking. Could be wrong and get dusted in a trade.

If you think the price on goalies is high now, wait till everyone only keeps 1. The top 10-15 tenders will become completely untouchable.
